Wolf Lake Art Prints
Minnesota Prairie Wetland Photography
Wolf Lake is a federally protected prairie wetland nestled in the tall-grass prairie of southwestern Minnesota. Paved trails wind through native wildflowers and grasses, leading down to floating docks at the water’s edge. Every season – and honestly, every visit – brings something completely different. These prints are made from photographs taken across multiple years of exploring this place.

The floating docks sit at the end of the trail, surrounded by tall reeds. Depending on the water level, you might be looking out at open water or a dense wall of cattails. The light here in the early morning is something else.
A family of eleven Trumpeter Swans on a calm summer evening. Trumpeter Swans were nearly extinct in Minnesota a century ago. Seeing a family this size feels like the land is healing itself.

Same overlook – different seasons
A wet summer means wide open water and the whole sky reflected back up at you. This is the view that makes people stop walking and just stand there for a while.
Hoary Vervain blooms in tall spires along the trail edge – easy to walk past without noticing, worth stopping for every time.
